I taught and art directed the Veggie Oasis project in my Special Topics in Graphic Design course which focused on Community Engagement and Service Learning. I collaborated with Professor Deborah Halperin, Director of the Action Research Center at Illinois Wesleyan University.

“Veggie Oasis is supported by a partnership between the McLean County Wellness Coalition, the West Bloomington Revitalization Project (WBRP), the Downtown Bloomington Association Farmer’s Market, and farmers. Volunteers glean produce at the end of the market and deliver them to distribution sites on the Westside food desert. The food is given away for free to local residents along with recipes, nutrition education, food insecurity information, and promotional materials for the farmers’ market. Since the Veggie Oasis started, over 10,000 pounds of food has been gleaned and distributed.”
