Not In Our Town/School

I taught and art directed the brochure and promotional materials for Not In Our Town/School (NIOT/S) in my Special Topics in Graphic Design course which focused on Community Engagement and Service Learning. I collaborated with members of the steering committee from NIOT/S. The brochures are used by both school districts in Bloomington-Normal (District 87 and Unit 5). They are given out to incoming freshmen students to show that their school is a part of the NIOT/S program. The posters are sold in the high schools to promote community building and upliftment amongst students.

NIOT/S is a national organization whose mission is to “Stop hate, address bullying, and build a safe, inclusive community.” The chapter in Bloomington-Normal has been active in 20 years and support and hosted events focused on diversity and inclusion. I am honored to serve on the steering committee.
